Lebanon's currency collapse has put ordinary food out of reach for ordinary families. People who were never poor are counting loaves. The shops are open and the shelves are full, which is its own kind of cruelty.

Once a vibrant and stable country in the region, Lebanon now faces soaring inflation, massive poverty, and widespread unemployment. The national currency has lost more than 90% of its value, food prices have skyrocketed, and hospitals and schools are struggling to survive.
