IRS Determination Letter
UMMA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity. This is what the IRS letter says, and how to check it.
In 2022, the IRS determined that UMMA Foundation, Inc. is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, effective April 12, 2021. Our EIN is 86-3883211.
What It Means for Donors
Donations to UMMA Foundation are tax-deductible in the United States under section 170. UMMA can also receive tax-deductible bequests and transfers under sections 2055, 2106 and 2522, so leaving money to UMMA in a will is deductible too.
A Public Charity
The IRS classified UMMA as a public charity, not a private foundation. A public charity files a return with the IRS every year. Ours are Form 990s, and anyone can read them.
