Give in Your Will

A donation in an estate plan funds the things that take longer than a campaign: land, buildings, training, the work that keeps growing.

  • The Details Your Solicitor Needs

Our legal name is UMMA Foundation Inc, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN 86-3883211. That is what identifies us in a will, a trust or a beneficiary designation.

  • The Usual Forms

A bequest in a will, a share of whatever is left once other bequests are met, a charitable trust, a donor-advised fund, or naming us as a beneficiary of a retirement account or policy. Which is right depends on your circumstances, and that is a conversation for your own adviser rather than for us.

  • Telling Us Is Optional

You are not obliged to. It helps if you do, because we can plan around it and make sure the donation reaches the work you meant it for.

  • Check Us First

Read the filed Form 990s and confirm the exemption before you commit anything. Both are linked from our financial disclosure, and neither requires taking our word for it.

Talk to Us First

You do not have to tell us, but it helps. This is not legal advice; your own adviser writes the wording. If you write, tell us:

  • Which form you are considering, if you have decided that far.
  • Whether you want the donation directed at a particular program.
  • Whether your adviser should write to us directly instead.
