About
Carrying Love Forward: Khaled Nabhan's Story
Khaled Nabhan, a grandfather, a humanitarian, a symbol of resilience. After losing his beloved granddaughter Reem in the Gaza conflict, he channeled his grief into hope. His iconic phrase, "Soul of my soul," embodies the eternal bond they shared and the love that drives his actions to help his community.
Despite his personal tragedy, Khaled has continued to support injured individuals, provide food to families in need, and inspire a global audience with his unwavering compassion. This tribute honors Khaled's love and legacy, extending his mission to protect and uplift the children of Gaza.
Gaza's Ongoing Tragedy
While Khaled's story touches hearts, his loss reflects a larger crisis, one where countless children are caught in the crossfire of conflict. Every donation made in Khaled's name supports life-saving aid for these children, ensuring they receive food, medical care, and hope for a brighter tomorrow.

What Is Happening
Families in Gaza have been displaced again and again, and the markets, clinics and water systems they relied on are gone. Hunger here is not a slow decline. It arrives in weeks, and it reaches children first.
What UMMA Is Doing
We work through kitchens and medical teams already inside these communities, because they know which streets to reach and they are there before we are. Your donation buys ingredients, fuel, medicine and the transport that gets all three to families who cannot travel to collect them.
Common Questions
Is my donation secure?
Card details go to Stripe and never reach our servers. We see the amount, the campaign and the receipt address, nothing else.
Are my donations tax deductible?
Yes, to the extent allowed by law. You receive a receipt for every donation, and all of them are in My Donations, in the UMMA app or your dashboard on the web.
Can I give my Zakat to UMMA?
Yes, and only to campaigns marked Zakat eligible. Zakat is restricted to the categories in Surah At Tawbah (9:60), so UMMA will not let it be applied anywhere else. If no eligible campaign is open, we say so rather than route it elsewhere.
How do you decide where donations go?
Donations go to the campaign you choose, and that campaign shows its own progress. If you donate without choosing one, funds go where the need is greatest at that moment.
Can I cancel a recurring donation?
Yes, at any time, in My Donations in the UMMA app or on the web. No email and no phone call. Gave without an account? The link in your receipt email cancels it.
Something went wrong with my donation. Who do I tell?
Email hello@ummafoundation.org with the receipt number and a person replies. Refunds follow the refund policy on this site.
What happens if this campaign does not reach its goal?
The work carries on with what was raised. Donations are not held back waiting for a total and they are not moved to another campaign: they go to this one, and the progress bar shows exactly where it stands.
What happens if it raises more than its goal?
It keeps accepting donations and the extra goes to the same work. A goal is what we planned for, not a cap on the need, and a campaign that has passed its goal is still the campaign you chose.
