About
A Bold Mission for Ramadan
Providing Lifesaving Bread for Those in Need
This Ramadan, as families in Sudan face hunger and hardship, we are taking action. With your support, we will distribute fresh bread daily to struggling families, ensuring they have a simple but essential source of nourishment throughout this blessed month.
The situation in Sudan is dire, ongoing crises have left many without food, and the simplest of meals is becoming out of reach for thousands. By giving today, you're not just providing food, you're offering relief, dignity, and hope.
Turning Generosity into Daily Sustenance
Fresh bread is a staple of life, but for too many in Sudan, it is becoming a luxury. Our campaign ensures that:✅ Bread is baked and distributed daily to families who need it most.✅ Your donation directly funds bread production, ensuring maximum impact.✅ A single loaf can be the difference between hunger and sustenance for a struggling family.
With your help, we can make sure no family in Sudan goes without bread this Ramadan.
🌙 Ramadan: A Time to Give & Share
Ramadan is a month of reflection, fasting, and generosity. While many of us break our fast with warm meals, countless families in Sudan struggle to find even a piece of bread.
With each loaf we bake, we bring hope, dignity, and nourishment to those who need it most. But we can't do this alone. Your support can expand our impact, ensuring more families have food on their tables this Ramadan.
The Prophet ﷺ said:"The best of you are those who feed others." (Ahmad)
This Ramadan, you have the chance to be a source of sustenance for struggling families. Your donation is more than just food, it's an act of love, kindness, and solidarity.
Sudan
What Is Happening
War has emptied whole neighborhoods in Sudan. Families who had a home in the morning are sleeping somewhere else by the evening, and the markets that used to feed them are closed, looted, or priced out of reach.
What UMMA Is Doing
We work with local kitchens and volunteers who are already inside these communities. Together we cook and hand out hot meals, and we go back to the same places so families can count on it. Your donation buys the ingredients, the fuel, and the transport.
Common Questions
Is my donation secure?
Card details go to Stripe and never reach our servers. We see the amount, the campaign and the receipt address, nothing else.
Are my donations tax deductible?
Yes, to the extent allowed by law. You receive a receipt for every donation, and all of them are in My Donations, in the UMMA app or your dashboard on the web.
Can I give my Zakat to UMMA?
Yes, and only to campaigns marked Zakat eligible. Zakat is restricted to the categories in Surah At Tawbah (9:60), so UMMA will not let it be applied anywhere else. If no eligible campaign is open, we say so rather than route it elsewhere.
How do you decide where donations go?
Donations go to the campaign you choose, and that campaign shows its own progress. If you donate without choosing one, funds go where the need is greatest at that moment.
Can I cancel a recurring donation?
Yes, at any time, in My Donations in the UMMA app or on the web. No email and no phone call. Gave without an account? The link in your receipt email cancels it.
Something went wrong with my donation. Who do I tell?
Email hello@ummafoundation.org with the receipt number and a person replies. Refunds follow the refund policy on this site.
What happens if this campaign does not reach its goal?
The work carries on with what was raised. Donations are not held back waiting for a total and they are not moved to another campaign: they go to this one, and the progress bar shows exactly where it stands.
What happens if it raises more than its goal?
It keeps accepting donations and the extra goes to the same work. A goal is what we planned for, not a cap on the need, and a campaign that has passed its goal is still the campaign you chose.
