- You, or the organization you are paid as, must be based in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Switzerland or a country in the European Economic Area other than Iceland.
- Stripe asks for your personal details and your bank account. If you are paid as an organization, have its registration details ready.
- Payouts belong to you as the owner, not to one community. If you own several communities, one payout account serves them all.
Set Up Payouts
Payouts send the donations to your community's campaigns to your bank account. The community owner sets them up once, through Stripe.

Before You Start
Set It Up
- On the website, open Payouts with the button below. In the app, open your community's settings and tap Payouts.
- Choose the country where you or your organization is based, then continue to Stripe.
- Follow Stripe's steps. It asks whether you are an individual, a company or a nonprofit, and for your bank details.
- Stripe may take a little while to check your details. Once it has approved you, the status shows Active.
What the Status Means
- Not Set Up: you have not started yet.
- Setup Not Finished: Stripe still needs something from you. Choose Continue Setup.
- Needs Information: Stripe asked for more details. Choose Continue Setup to add them.
- Not Accepted: Stripe did not accept the account. Email hello@ummafoundation.org and we will help.
- Active: you can start a campaign. Choose Manage Payouts to change your bank details.
Once you have sent your details to Stripe, the country cannot be changed. Contact us if you need to move it.
